Some considerations about Ångström exponent distributions

چکیده
A simulation study has been performed in order to show the influence of the aerosol optical depth (AOD) distribution together with the corresponding error distribution on the resulting Ångström exponent (AE) distribution. It will be shown that the Ångström exponent frequency of occurrence distribution is only normal distributed when the relative error at the two wavelengths used for estimation of the Ångström exponent is the same. In all other cases a shift of the maximum of the AE-distribution will occur. It will be demonstrated that the Ångström exponent (or the maximum of an AE distribution) will be systematically overor underestimated depending on whether the relative error of the shorter wavelength is larger or smaller compared with the relative error of the longer wavelength. In such cases the AE distribution are also skewed.

Scaling laws in critical random Boolean networks with general in- and out-degree distributions.
We evaluate analytically and numerically the size of the frozen core and various scaling laws for critical Boolean networks that have a power-law in- and/or out-degree distribution. To this purpose, we generalize an efficient method that has previously been used for conventional random Boolean networks and for networks with power-law in-degree distributions. With this generalization, we can als...

In this work, we extracted data from Optical Properties of Aerosols and Clouds (OPAC) using FORTRAN program to model the effect of soot on optical depth, scattering coefficient, absorption coefficient, single scattering albedo, extinction coefficient and asymmetry parameter at spectral range of 0.25 to 1.00 m for eight different relative humidities (RHs) (0, 50, 70, 80, 90, 95, 98 and 99%). Nanoflares are the small impulsive sudden energy releases, due to the explosion of solar background. Thus, determination of their energies and distributions is important . Recent observations and simulation models have shown that the frequency of their energies follows power-law. According to Parker hypothesis, if these exponents are greater than critical value 2, the contributions of nanofla...
متن کاملRemote sensing of soot carbon – Part 2: Understanding the absorption Ångström exponent
Recently, some authors have suggested that the absorption Ångström exponent (AAE) can be used to deduce the component aerosol absorption optical depths (AAODs) of carbonaceous aerosols in the AERONET database. This AAE approach presumes that AAE 1 for soot carbon, which contrasts the traditional small particle limit of AAE= 1 for soot carbon. Thus, we provide an overview of the AERONET retrieva...
